WALK ON THAMES, BOAT AND TATE BRITAIN

Along the Thames, the city raise in the most authentic and seductive way and through the Tate collection we show the soul of the british art in all its novelty.

 

The tour starts from Tower Hill tube, in the shade of the Tower of London and after across the Tower Bridge, develop itself on the south riverside until Tate Modern where we get the boat for Tate Britain. The walk allows to admire and discover the histories and the anecdotes of Tower of London and London Bridge (even more stunning after the refurbished for the Olympic Games), also we have a favored view of skyscrapers, particularly of the “Shard”, the italian Renzo Piano skyscraper, the higher of Europe.

Before crossing the famous bridge, we show you a very special place hidden to hurried viewers: St. Katherine’s Dock, a picturesque dock once upon a time ex-hospital of the area.Along the walk among the many attractions, we see the Hays’ Gallery, a gorgeous nineteenth century style window and steel pavillion once ex tea wharf, the Globe Theatre, an exactly reconstruction of the seventeenth century theatre of Shakespeare and the Borough Market, a unique corner of London to discover its culinary history. At the arrive at Tate Modern, we can make a break in the panoramic cafè of the museum and visit some of its rooms or we can get directly the boat for Tate Britain.

The boat gives us an unreleased view of the Palace of Parliament and goes on below the most famous bridges of the city. Left the boat we continue into the beautiful rooms of the Tate Britain, the most important collections of English Art works in the world. The Museum is probably less famous than National Gallery and Tate Modern, for sure less crowded, but it will be a surprise for you discover among the stunning viewings of Turner, the satirical scenes of Hogarth and the pre-raphaelite paintings, that it is more suggestive and fascinating.
